About This Special Issue
Plants and plant products possess various medicinal properties. Several herbal plants have been listed in the ancient literatures for their medicinal values and their formulation has been found to be effective for the treatment of various diseases. Therapies with synthetic medicines have many side effects and cannot be afforded by the people due to higher cost of the drug. To overcome this problem plants growing around us are utilized without scientific validation. So, designing research to justify the therapeutic use of traditional medicine is a current hot topic. In the quest of searching plants having significant pharmacological and biological activities, we have designed this special issue and we would like to invite the researchers from all over the world to submit their original and review articles in the field of phytochemistry and phytopharmacology.

This issue covers the following topic but are not always limited:

1. Pharmacological and biological investigation of plant extracts and essential oils
2. Phytochemical investigation of natural products
3. Isolation, identification and structural elucidation of natural products
4. Review article on medicinal properties of plants
5. Ethnobotanical investigation of medicinal plants
